You lose very little. The game saves half a second after each thing you do, and again whenever it goes into the background, so when you open it again you're back where you were. The one thing it never saves is a battle in progress: if the game closes during a fight, you'll be back in the world, and the enemy will be waiting when you return. See How saving works.

What to try

  1. Close the game completely, then open it again. Open your recent apps and swipe the game away first. If it froze, this is usually the quickest way out.
  2. Restart your phone or tablet. It frees the memory other apps are holding, and every scene in the game is painted, so it needs more than most.
  3. Update the game. Find it in Google Play and tap Update if it's offered. What each update fixed is in the patch notes.
  4. Check your device can run it. The game needs Android 7.0 or newer. See What you need to play.

What not to do

Don't clear the game's storage, and don't uninstall it. Clear storage (on some devices Clear data), in your device's Settings › Apps › The Mystical Door, deletes your saves, and so does uninstalling. They are kept only on your device, so we can't get them back for you. Clear cache leaves your saves alone, but it rarely helps.

Tell us

The game sends nothing to anyone when it crashes, so we only find out if you tell us. If you can get into the game, open Settings and, under Help & Support, tap Contact support: the form opens with your device and your place in the story already filled in. Say what you were doing when it happened, and whether it happens every time.

If it crashes as soon as it opens, use the contact form and tell us your phone or tablet, its Android version, and the game's version, which is at the bottom of your device's Settings › Apps › The Mystical Door. See Contacting support.
