Switching save slots no longer takes the story with it. Loading another slot left the adventure screen unable to draw anything for the rest of the session — conversations, arrival cards, chapter-completion cards. Since a conversation hides the joystick and ACT while it is open, what you saw was the ACT button doing nothing at all. Closing the game and reopening it was the only way back, which was the clue that nothing was actually wrong with the save.

Narration keeps pace with the voice again. Text that scrolls alongside a spoken line struck its pace from the first measurement it could take, so a passage that turned out taller than that first guess covered the extra distance in the same time — scrolling ahead of the words being read. Long passages, footnotes and reply menus now pace against the passage as it actually is.

Dialogue replies are all one size. A reply short enough to fit on one line was centred; one that wrapped was laid out from the left, leaving its last line hanging alone at the margin. The same menu therefore drew some answers centred and others not. Every reply is now drawn at the height of the tallest and centred on every line, so a list of options reads as a list of equals rather than as one considered answer and several afterthoughts. The Copied Barrow is the clearest case.
