Attunement

Every piece you wear spends some of your attunement, a budget that grows as you level. You can't wear more than it covers. The top of the Loadout page shows how much you are using out of your total.

Stronger pieces cost more. Power costs a Mage least and a Warrior most, so gear that adds Power is cheap for a Mage and dear for a Warrior.

Swapping one piece for another only needs the difference in their costs.

Early on, the budget covers everything you find. Later, the strongest pieces for all three slots together cost more than it can pay for, so you choose where to spend it.

If a piece needs more than you have spare, its comparison says how much more, and offers to take off your other pieces to make room. Otherwise, come back a level or two later, or temper it.

Tempering

Tempering lowers how much attunement a piece costs, and it keeps every one of its stats. Tap the piece on the Loadout page and, under Tempering, tap Temper for … gold. The button shows the price.

  • Each step takes 15% off the piece's attunement cost.
  • A piece can be tempered three times.
  • Each step costs more gold than the one before.
  • A tempered piece stays tempered, even after you take it off.

Gold buys healing flasks and tempering, so it is worth keeping some for the pieces you care about.
